Warehouse Operating Rules

 
   
 


  1. No one is allowed in the warehouse without a proper escort.

  2.  The warehouse will be secured when there is no warehouse person within the actual warehouse. 

  3. No activities are permitted in the warehouse except for those that are conducted by the Central Coast Wine Services.  Any unauthorized person or activity in the warehouse will be reported to the front office immediately. 

  4. Each shipment will be inspected by a second party to verify the correctness of the order.  The person who verifies the order cannot be the same person who pulls/stages it.

  5. A receiving report must be filled out in its entirety by warehouse personnel for all incoming product.  A second party must verify each receipt of wine or other goods before it is put away.

  6. Breakage will be reported to the front office on the day that it occurs and the breakage report will be filled out in its entirety by warehouse personnel.

  7.  Mis-shipments and/or returns must be reported as soon as they are discovered, without regard to the ultimate disposition of the cases.  Mis-shipment or return reports must be filled out completely by warehouse personnel.

  8. Products not found for an order must be reported that same day to the front office.

  9. The forklift and man lift will not be used for other than warehouse purposes without the approval of David Sartain.

  10.  Each forklift will always be equipped with tape, a tape gun, a marking pen, twine and a knife. 

  11.  The warehouse is to be swept at least twice a week.  Large objects should be picked up daily.

  12. Activities, such as reconfiguring a truckload, must have the paperwork completed before beginning the operation.

  13. Except under special circumstances, all wines, excluding those that are staged for shipment, should be put back in an aisle before closing the warehouse at night.
